Van catches fire in Green Bay

GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- On Saturday afternoon, the driver of a van noticed the air conditioning stopped working and then smoke filled his vehicle.

Officials say the driver was able to get his van off the road. Then the van caught fire while on the corner of south Military Road and west Mason Street.

"It started burning very rapidly," said Eric Johnson with the Green Bay Metro Fire Department. "Fortunately, we have a fire station two blocks away. Firefighters got on scene in less than two minutes and put a quick extinguishment on it before the fire got worse."
