35 men arrested in Brown County during human trafficking operation

GREEN BAY, Wis. (WLUK) -- Thirty-five men were arrested throughout Brown County during a national human trafficking operation.

The National Johns Suppression Initiative occurred between June 28 through July 31, involving 37 law enforcement agencies across 17 states.

Authorities throughout Brown County, including Green Bay, De Pere and Ashwaubenon, arrested the men over a four-day period, July 17-20.

Nationally, the operation arrested 1,020 sex buyers, also known as "johns" and recovered 75 adults and 6 juvenile victims.

The main goal of the National Johns Suppression Initiative is to reduce human trafficking by targeting sex buyers.

The Brown County Sheriff's Office will host a news conference Thursday at 10 a.m. to further discuss the operation.
