Green Bay woman charged with filing false federal income tax returns
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- A Green Bay woman faces dozens of charges for allegedly filing false federal income tax returns.
Alma Ramirez, 40, is charged with five counts of wire fraud, five counts of aggravated identity theft and 19 counts of assisting in the filing of false federal income tax returns.
Prosecutors say between March 2013 and May 2016, Ramirez and those working with her, prepared and filed more than 60 false federal income tax returns using various names and false information.
Ramirez and her associates sought more than $300,000.
If convicted, Ramirez faces up to 20 years in prison.
