GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- After new parking fees were proposed for downtown Green Bay, city council has decided to leave that notion in the past.

The decision came Tuesday night, following last week's meeting. That's when city leaders suggested that adding fees to people parking downtown on nights and weekends would create necessary revenue.

Then came pushback from businesses in the area, who said customers would go elsewhere if they had to pay for parking.

For those worried about the possibility of having to pay to park downtown, worry no more-- city council says parking will continue to be free on weeknights and weekends.
