ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) -- The Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity ReStore is marking its tenth anniversary with the announcement of a new location.
The non-profit organization said Thursday it's kicking off its "Framing For Our Future" campaign to help raise money for its Restore move from Ashwaubenon to Bellevue.
The move from 2965 Ramada Way to an existing building at 1967 Allouez Ave., across from Target, will provide more space for the ReStore as well as Habitat for Humanity offices, currently located on Packerland Dr.
So far, $2.1 million of the $3.5 million project has been secured.
The campaign is hoping to raise the rest, starting with a $500,000 matching challenge from longtime Habitat supporters, Jack and Egrid "Inky" Meng.
“Thanks to the compassion and generosity of the Mengs and so many more, we look forward to moving into our new all-inclusive Habitat Campus, which will allow us work more efficiently as a unit, streamline efficiencies and live our mission daily,” Cora Haltaufderheid, executive director of the local affiliate of Habitat for Humanity said.
Habitat officials hope to reopen the ReStore at its new location for early fall.
The ReStore takes in donated building materials, furniture and appliances to resell and fund various community housing projects.
