GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- More than $800,000 was raised for 31 area organizations in just 24 hours.

The Greater Green Bay Community Foundation and the Green Bay Packers Foundation teamed up to raise money and awareness for non-profits in the community.

The Greater Green Bay Habitat for Humanity received the most donations with more than $39,000, while St. John the Evangelist Homeless Shelter received the most single donations with 244.

Organizers say their expectations have been blown away.

"We were really just trying to create awareness for the nonprofits in their community, see what kind of support we could gain," said Dennis Buehler, Greater Green Bay Community Foundation president. "To see $800,000 be raised in 24 hours for these nonprofits is really impressive."

The Packers Foundation will match up to $250,000.

The matching dollars will be based on the percent of money raised by each organization.
