APPLETON (WLUK) -- The streets were alive with the sound of music in downtown Appleton Monday.

It was all to kick off the fifth annual Street Music Week.

Hosted by Heid Music, the fifth annual event helps to give back to the community while spreading their love of music. Volunteer street musicians perform along College Avenue. They also collect donations which will be given to Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin.

"Musicians are so generous. They're glad to give their time because it's such a good cause,” said Audrey Hendrickson of Heid Music. “If you can play music and help people have food, that's an awesome thing."

This year, organizers hope to raise $5,000.
