Reed convicted in deaths of Oneida couple
APPLETON (WLUK) - Vance Reed was convicted Thursday for the murder of an Oneida couple.
Reed entered no contest pleas to two counts of first-degree intentional homicide for the September deaths of Harry and Lorraine Brown Bear, according to court records.
Sentencing is scheduled for July 10. Each charge carries a mandatory life prison term, although the judge can decide to set parole eligibility dates.
The plea avoids a trial, which had been scheduled for May 18.
Reed killed the couple during an argument at their Oneida home.
