Appleton International Airport breaks ground on new car rental facility
If you fly into Appleton International Airport, a new facility is coming to take the hassle out of calling a cab or waiting for a ride.
The airport broke ground Wednesday on a new, 7,000-square-foot car rental facility.
The facility will house five rental car companies and is being funded by the airport and the companies.
The $3.9 million project also includes parking lot improvements, enhanced lighting and signage as well as new sidewalks.
"This will certainly improve way finding. It will provide convenience for customers looking for their rental car and it'll improve the efficiency of rental car operators for this facility," said airport director, Abe Weber.
The car rental facility is set to open in the spring of next year and will kick off a multi-year renovation plan for the airport.
