ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) -- The Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue Dept. presented FOX 11 with a certificate of appreciation Tuesday, in recognition of the station's work to spread the message of fire prevention.

Chief Peter O'Leary met with FOX 11/CW 14 General Manager Jay Zollar to present the certificate.

The certificate reads:

This certificate is awarded to WLUK FOX 11 for your continued and unwavering support of Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue throughout 2017 by communicating fire and life safety messages which helped reduce risk from fire.

O'Leary specifically mentioned a recent FOX 11 story on the "Tide Pod Challenge." Fond du Lac Fire/Rescue provided an interview for the story.

"All your staff, the reporters, the photographers who come out and help us, they're all great. They're always willing to help us. We think we're lucky that we have the type of relationship that we have with the news media," O'Leary said. "We like to help you guys get your news stories out and we like to be a part of them."

FOX 11 is honored by the recognition.
