APPLETON (WLUK) -- The suspect in a double-fatal drunken driving crash has been moved from a hospital to the Outagamie County Jail.

However, due to the county observing the Christmas Eve holiday on Friday, Joseph Konetzke will not make an initial court appearance until Tuesday.

Konetzke, 57, was booked into the jail Thursday night on two counts of homicide by intoxicated use of a motor vehicle for the crash Sunday night in Liberty. Formal charges have not been filed.

David Rosol, 82, and Hazel DeWitt, 83, both of LaGrange, Ill., were killed after Konetzke allegedly ran a stop sign.

Konetzke was already issued a citation by Outagamie County for failing to stop for the stop sign. A Feb. 28 court date is scheduled for that case.

He also faces separate charges in Winnebago County for misdemeanor OWI-third offense for a Dec. 2 traffic stop.

(Editor's note: The Sheriff's Department originally said the crash was in Bovina, but now says it was in Liberty. The story was edited with the correct information.)
