More than 80 positions eliminated at area hospitals
More than 80 people have lost their jobs at three area hospitals.
Hospital Sisters Health System says 85 positions in mainly non-clinical areas have been eliminated due to health care industry changes.
HSHS-Eastern Wisconsin Division includes HSHS St. Vincent Hospital and HSHS St. Mary's Hospital Medical Center in Green Bay and HSHS St. Clare Memorial Hospital in Oconto Falls.
Officials also say they have put a hold on new positions.
The organization says high-deductible health plans are causing people to postpone care and improvements in technology are allowing many procedures to be in an outpatient rather than an inpatient setting.
Before the job eliminations, HSHS-Eastern Wisconsin Division had 3,500 employees.
