Deputies: Manitowoc chase ends in death of Two Rivers man

MISHICOT (WLUK) -- What started as an afternoon traffic stop ended in a deadly crash Sunday.

It happened at 5:38 p.m. when a Manitowoc County deputy tried to pull over a man on Highway 147 in Mishicot.

The 48-year-old was driving a white Lincoln Town Car, and was being pulled over for multiple traffic violations.

That's when deputies say he sped off heading south on the highway.

He reached the intersection of Highway 147 and Crystal Springs Road in the Town of Two Rivers when he hit a 25 -year-old Two Rivers man, driving a pickup truck.

The Two Rivers man died at the scene.

The 48-year-old was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Manitowoc deputies say the chase was about four miles, with drivers reaching up to 100 miles per hour.
