Cocaine and marijuana seized from Sturgeon Bay residence
STURGEON BAY (WLUK) -- Thanks to a tip from federal officials in Miami, $25,000 worth of cocaine and marijuana was seized from a residence in Sturgeon Bay.
On May 23, The Door/Kewaunee County Drug Task Force was notified that the Department of Homeland Security and Customs and Border Patrol in Miami had intercepted a package containing a "large quantity" of cocaine being sent from overseas to Sturgeon Bay.
On Tuesday, authorities executed a search warrant at the Sturgeon Bay residence.
Door County deputies say approximately seven ounces of cocaine and more than three pounds of marijuana was seized.
Two men were taken into custody: Harold Baker and James Johnson.
Both men had bond appearances in Door County court Wednesday, although formal charges have not been filed yet.
Bond was set at $15,000 cash for each. Formal initial appearances are scheduled for Monday, according to the clerk’s office.
Authorities are recommending charges of possession with intent to deliver cocaine, possession with intent to deliver marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia against Baker and Johnson.
