KESHENA, Wis. (WLUK) -- The Menominee Indian School District is providing an update on recent suspicious activity on the high school campus.
Classes and homecoming celebrations are continuing, after surveillance footage showed what police say is an armed man on the high school campus Tuesday night.
Surveillance footage showed what police believe is a man walking behind the Menominee Indian High School around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. Police say he appeared to be holding an assault rifle and hand gun.
Anyone with information about the incident or the person captured on camera is instructed to call the Menominee Tribal Police Department at (715) 799-3881.
After increasing surveillance Wednesday night, no new activity was reported. No curfew violations were cited either.
Classes continued Thursday, and homecoming activities took place during the day as well.
The school district says it will continue to have increased police presence in and around its schools and at events.
The district is still asking students to stay away from the high school after school hours for non-school-related activities. The tribal police department will also be enforcing its 9 p.m. juvenile curfew Thursday night.
The volleyball game against Gresham High School is still scheduled for Thursday night. Gresham Superintendent Newell Haffner emphasized in a message to families that parents have the choice whether to send their student athletes to the game Thursday night. The conference has rescheduled Thursday's cross country meet.
Homecoming activities are expected to continue as planned, including a parade, pep rally, football game and dance on Friday night.
All bags, purses and pockets will be searched before the dance. Students will not be allowed back into the dance after leaving.
Anyone with questions about the situation is encouraged to call the high school office at (715) 799-3846.
