SPRINGVALE, Wis. (WLUK) -- The Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office says a bullet struck a home along Pommering Road Friday morning after a hunter fired at a deer.
Deputies say they received a call about the incident at approximately 8:21 a.m. from a resident who said they heard a gunshot and something striking the house.
Sheriff's deputies and the Wisconsin DNR arrived to the area and came across a group of hunters that were actively hunting on state-owned public land which bordered the Springvale home.
One member of the group said he fired at a deer in the direction of the house, but believed with distance and angle of the shot that he wouldn't be in danger of striking the home.
According to Fond du Lac County sheriff's officials, the bullet hit the siding of the home and exited the drywall inside the house.
Authorities say there were no injuries in the incident.
The incident is still under investigation by both the Fond du Lac County Sheriff's Office and the DNR.
