FOND DU LAC COUNTY (WLUK) -- A Good Samaritan and a state trooper offered life-saving roadside assistance to a man in north Fond du Lac County.

Around 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, a state trooper noticed a woman running on the northbound shoulder of I-41 near Church Road, east of Eldorado.

The woman waved the state trooper over to two vehicles pulled off onto the shoulder of the highway.

The officer was told a man in a vehicle was having a medical emergency.

Noting the man was unconscious and appeared to be not breathing, the trooper immediately began CPR.

A short time later, a Good Samaritan, who is a doctor, assisted with rescue breaths until other crews arrived on scene to help.

The man was taken to an area hospital where he is now conscious and receiving additional treatment.
