4:00 A.M. FRIDAY UPDATE -- According to Appleton Police's Twitter, the woman has surrendered. The wanted man has not.

APPLETON (WLUK) -- A wanted man and woman were the cause of a disturbance in a "normally boring neighborhood" Thursday night.

Officials say an officer was patrolling the 1800 block of Frances Street in Appleton that night.

That officer saw a man and a woman that were both wanted on several felony warrants in a home on the block.

Local law enforcement, who were familiar with the wanted man, decided to use SWAT teams to take both the man and woman into custody.

Additional officers made it to the home around 7:30, and demanded the man and woman come out of the house.

After making the commands over a megaphone, two people came out of the home.

Neither were the man or woman that officers were looking for. Officers say the pair that came out did nothing wrong, and told officers that the couple they were looking for was inside and refusing to come out.

Appleton officers say they made several attempts to get the man and the woman to come out of the home, including using a robot.

While some heard what they believed to be gunshots, officers clarified that no gunshots were fired during the confrontation.

Officers say the loud noises people may have heard were probably from the deployment of what officials call 'noise flash external diversion devices.'

Local law enforcement is still trying to reach the wanted man and woman.

Officers say the public, nor people in the neighborhood, are in danger.
