GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers has worked to end childhood cancer and blood disorders. That hard work paid off with an honorary medical degree from the Medical College of Wisconsin.

It's one of the highest honors the college can give.

The Medical College of Wisconsin says Rodgers works with its faculty and is also involved with the Midwest Athletes Against Childhood Cancer, Inc.

He has helped raise $2.8 million for research impacting thousands of lives.

The college has a history of working with the Packers organization. The Green Bay Packers Foundation has granted nearly $350,000 in support of scholarships and curriculum development.

Fifteen students graduating from a three year accelerated program will receive their diplomas Friday at Lambeau Field.
