GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Another candidate is throwing their name in the ring to be Green Bay’s mayor.
Green Bay City Council President Mark Steuer plans to formally announce his candidacy tomorrow at Murphy Park.
Steuer has represented District 10 on the council for the past six years, which is on the city's west side. He previously has served as the council's vice president.
Steuer will become the second announced candidate for the race, joining Democratic State Rep. Eric Genrich.
Jim Schmitt, the city's current mayor, announced in November that he would not seek a fifth term. However, Schmitt has said he could change his mind if he doesn't believe there is a qualified candidate in the race.
