SURING (WLUK) -- The Suring School Board is expected to discuss the recent strip search controversary at a March 2 meeting, according to the school board president.
During an investigation into vaping at the high school, several students were searched for items. There were complaints that the searches constituted illegal strip searches, and police were called.
However, District Attorney Edward Burke Jr. announced Tuesday the searches did not meet the statutory definition of illegal strip searches, and said no charges will be filed.
FOX 11 asked school board president Wayne Sleeter for a comment. He replied the board “needs time to gather and review documents,” and that a school board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. on March 2.
