Precautionary lockdown lifted at Green Bay schools
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Three schools on Green Bay's west side were locked down for about an hour Tuesday.
Green Bay police say Kennedy and MacArthur elementary schools, as well as Southwest High School, went into a precautionary "secure the building" status around 11:45 a.m.
Police say a student from MacArthur Elementary reported seeing a male in some nearby woods with blood on his hands. Other students gave different descriptions, including that the man had a gun.
Police searched the area but did not find anything suspicious. The lockdown was lifted before 1 p.m.
The police department says officers will continue to be in the area as students are released at the end of the school day.
