Woman shot in 'targeted' Fond du Lac County shooting

TOWN OF FRIENDSHIP (WLUK) -- A woman was injured in a shooting Sunday night in Fond du Lac County -- and the shooter is still on the loose.

Sheriff's officials say they were called to a home in the area of Cemetery Road and Lakeshore Drive just after 10:30 p.m. A caller reported that someone in a vehicle fired several rounds, hitting one person.

When deputies arrived, they found a 37-year-old Fond du Lac woman had been shot in the leg. Officials provided first aid before she was taken to the hospital. Her injuries were considered minor.

While the shooter was no longer at the scene by the time deputies arrived, they said they believed the shooting was targeted at the people at the home. Investigators do not believe the public is in danger.
