GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Police have released surveillance images of the man they say "did not want to make a scene" when he unsuccessfully tried to rob a west-side bank Thursday.

Officers say the man walked into Associated Bank, 1482 W. Mason St., just before 9:15 a.m. He asked the teller to empty her cash drawer, but the teller said she could not do that. Police say the would-be robber then told the teller he did not want to make a scene. The teller got the attention of another teller, at which point the man turned around and left the bank without receiving any money.

The man did not show any kind of weapon, police say.

A search for the man using a police dog came up empty.
