GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Lawn ornaments are disappearing from yards on the east side of Green Bay.

Police say 19 households have reported thefts of their decorations since July 21. Items that are being stolen include landscape lighting, decorative statues, gazing balls and stands, cushions from lawn furniture and hanging flower baskets. Some of the items are worth hundreds of dollars, police say.

Investigators believe more homeowners may be affected, but have not filed formal complaints.

The thefts have happened in the Red Smith, Wilder Park and McAuliffe Park neighborhoods. The Red Smith neighborhood has also had several homes and vehicles egged.

Police have been able to gather little information about the thieves. In one case, officers say, thieves were seen running toward an older dark-colored four-door Honda car.

Anyone with information is asked to call Green Bay police at (920) 448-3208. Anonymous tips may also be left with Crime Stoppers by phone at (920) 432-7867 or online.

Police are also asking people in the area to keep an eye on their yards and their neighbors', and report any suspicious activity or vehicles.
