Connect to Congress: Grothman on State of the Union, border wall, 2020 election

WASHINGTON (WLUK) -- One day after President Donald Trump delivered his State of the Union address, U.S. Rep. Glenn Grothman, R-6th District spoke on a variety of topics.

    State of the Union

I particularly like the way (Trump) talked about progress he's made toward cutting the cost of prescription drugs -- he's going to continue to make that a priority, the progress he's made in improving the services at the VA, and finally having a president who'll stand up and say we're going to get rid of the bad employees at the VA.
He of course made a pitch -- a surprise pitch, I felt -- for getting rid of late-term abortions.

    U.S.-Mexico border wall

I think it depends what the public wants, and I think Donald Trump has to do a better job of articulating why we need the wall so the Democrats come on board.

    2020 Election

I think he hurts himself sometimes by tweeting excessively, sometimes a little immaturely. And if it weren't for that, I think he'd breeze to re-election.
Hopefully the economy will be strong enough, and he will have more accomplishments in his next two years so that he won't have a problem.
