Know your candidate: Republican Brad Schimel, running for attorney general
(WLUK) -- Brad Schimel is one of three candidates on the ballot for Wisconsin attorney general.
Schimel was first elected attorney general in 2014 and inaugurated in January 2015. Prior to that, he had been Waukesha County district attorney since 2006, and a prosecutor in that office since 1990.
Schimel's website touts his emphasis on prescription painkiller abuse, internet crimes against children, violence against women and human trafficking. Along with other state attorneys general, Schimel has also sued the federal government on several issues he calls "overreach."
