Taco Mac n' Cheese

1 (8 ounce) package elbow macaroni

1 pound ground beef

1 packet taco seasoning

3/4 Cup water

2 tablespoons butter

2 tablespoons flour

2 cups milk

1 (8 ounce) block sharp cheddar cheese, shredded


Prepare pasta according to package directions. Drain and keep warm. Brown ground beef in large skillet until no longer pink. Drain. Return beef to skillet and stir in taco seasoning plus water. Bring to a boil and reduce to simmer and cook stirring occasionally for 7 minutes or until most of liquid evaporates. Remove from heat. Melt butter in a large sauce pan over medium low heat. Whisk in flour until smooth ; whisking constantly approximately for 2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk and cook 5 minutes whisking constantly until thickened. Remove from heat. Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese until melted. Stir in cooked pasta and beef mixture. Sprinkle with remaining 1/2 cup cheese. Serve immediately with desired toppings.
