Pear and Grape Sangria Chutney

Sangria Chutney


1 medium onion, diced

3 pears, peeled and diced

1 cup red grapes, sliced in half

4 leaves of basil, chopped

1 cinnamon stick

2cups Merlot

1/2 cup honey

salt as needed


In a large saute' pan heat a small amount of oil and add in the onions and pears. When the pears and onions start to caramelize add in the grapes. Toss in the cinnamon stick and add the Merlot. Simmer until the red wine has become thick and well absorbed into the pear. Add in the honey and the basil and stir well. Season with salt if needed and cool. Remove the cinnamon stick before serving.
