MANITOWOC (WLUK) -- We're hoping to learn what's next for that navigational beacon light that was swept away during high wind and waves on Lake Michigan earlier this week.

FOX 11's Justin Steinbrinck met with Chief Eric Olson of the U.S. Coast Guard at the site Friday.

All that's left of the 20-foot-tall structure is some shards of fiberglass and steel cables still connected to the base.

Photos submitted by FOX 11 viewers showed the lighthouse being swept away and the aftermath.
