FOX CITIES (WLUK) -- Hundreds of runners will bear the unseasonably warm heat as they participate in the 27th annual Fox Cities Marathon.

FOX 11's Lauren Kalil was live from the race checking in with athletes before and after they cross the finish line.

There are several water stations and medical tents along the route to try and prevent runners from having heat exhaustion.

The marathon updates the event alert system on their website to let people know what the conditions will be during the race.

As of 3:30 a.m. on Sunday, there is a green flag which indicates good conditions for the race.

The Fox Cities Marathon's website shows 887 people finished the race, 551 of them were female and 336 were male.

The top finisher on the men's side was Mason Grundy with a time of 2:46:05.

For the women, Alisha Damrow crossed the finish line first with a time of 3:14:23.
