GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Saturday morning at a local farmers market is a weekly ritual for many. In Green Bay, the season gets underway this weekend.
The downtown Saturday Farmers Market kicks off its 107th season on May 27, 2023. The market features more than 100 vendors offering fruits, vegetables, flowers, plants, baked goods, food trucks, live music and more. It runs every Saturday from 7 a.m. to Noon through October 28th along Washington and Doty Streets.
Farmers Market Manager Lamyai Kizzee and Downtown Green Bay, Inc.'s Samantha Mirkes joined Rachel Manek on the Fox 11 Weather Deck to talk about some new features at this year's market. This season you can pick up a Loyalty Card at the BayCare booth to receive a weekly stamp. With 5 stamps, turn in your card for a chance to win in a monthly drawing.
Also new this year is market merchandise. Artwork by Claudia Dumoulin can be found on t-shirts, crew neck sweatshirts, and stickers. They'll be for sale at the information booth located in central market.
Paula Weber, of Two Spoiled Danes Bakery, showed what she'll be featuring at the market. She makes and sells all natural, human grade gourmet dog treats, pupcakes, pupcicles & birthday cakes.
