Butterfly Festival in Appleton supports a great cause
FOX VALLEY (WLUK) -- The 10th annual Butterfly Festival is once again supporting parents and children in the Fox Cities.
The festival will take place this Saturday and will be held at City Park in Downtown Appleton from 9 a.m. until noon.
The event will feature family fun activities throughout the morning. Proceeds from the Butterfly Festival allow the Parent Connection program at Family Services to offer guidance, support and understanding to new parents.
People can still register for the event, or can donate online.
Elizabeth Last, from the Parent Connection program and Crystal Uebelher, of the Butterfly Committee, joined FOX 11's Emily Deem on Good Day Wisconsin to talk about the festival, and how people can help the program.
Organizers say the highlight of the event is set for 11:45 a.m., when attendees will release more than 1,000 butterflies representing Parent Connection's dedication to "Helping Families Fly!"
