GRAND CHUTE (WLUK) -- As summer approaches, there is plenty of activities to keep on learning through the season at the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve in Grand Chute. Their summer events include classes on frogs, turtles, as well as the pollination creatures seen throughout northeast Wisconsin, as you and your kids have tons of fun in nature, while also learning something new.

The preserve also has teamed up with Faith Technologies for a brand new, clean energy microgrid used to power their new Environmental Center. The power grid was created to help the nature preserve achieve its sustainability mission and to provide energy solutions for industrial and commercial business that want cleaner energy. The power grid uses a combination of solar energy, a hydrogen fuel cell, a lithium-ion battery storage system, a micro-turbine and a natural gas generator.

Justin Steinbrinck spent the morning at the Gordon Bubolz Nature Preserve learning more about what makes summertime the perfect time to come and visit this natural spot of the Fox Cities.
