ASHWAUBENON (WLUK) -- Members of the community are remembering those lost to suicide on this Veterans day.

The 5th annual Veteran suicide awareness march will take place in the Green Bay area.

FOX 11's Lauren Kalil was live talking with participants about why they choose to walk the long journey.

Members will march either 20 miles or 2.0 miles to remember the 20 Veteran lives lost a day to suicide.

For the first time in 5 years, Veteran suicide has dropped from 22 Veterans per day to 20 Veterans per day, according to a recent study done by the V.A.

Participants are also encouraged to carry a 20 pound rucksack or backpack.

The event starts and ends at Stadium View Bar and Grille in Ashwaubenon.
