NEENAH (WLUK) -- Students of all abilities and ages could be seen smiling in the sunshine in Neenah Wednesday, as the school district celebrated its first Neenah Applauding Student Abilities day.
With activities like cornhole, face painting and even a dunk tank, students of all abilities could be seen having fun at Rocket Stadium.
High school student volunteers helped organize the event and run the games and activities for about 90 students.
The event brought students and staff together from across the district and even incorporated community members.
"I think one of the cool things about the event is we also have community organizations that have either volunteered people to help the event and support it, police and fire are here and brought some of their trucks, and they filled our dunk tank for us today," said Neenah High School Health Teacher Abby Poliak. "I think it's not even just a district event as much as a community event."
Poliak says the district has been supportive of the first annual event and wants to continue to grow and expand the celebration.
