WAUSAU (WSAW) -- An EF-1 tornado tore through the Town of Stettin, just west of Wausau Monday.

It happened around 1 a.m.

Residents are picking up the pieces. Trees were uprooted and homes were destroyed.

Bruce Hanneman, a Stettin resident, describes what he witnessed during the storm.

"There was no warning, it was quite a shock," Hanneman said. "Two trees, the roof on the garage, and just a bunch of stuff turned upside down."

Hanneman's home was blocks away from the path of the area's first tornado of the season.

A path as wide as a football field.

Winds reached up to 105 miles per hour.

Northstar Restoration Services helped clean up debris.

"There were a lot of windows that were busted and glass was spread throughout the homes," said Jamie Wenzel. "It takes some specialty cleaning."
