GRAND CHUTE (WLUK) -- Opening day is fast approaching, and the Wisconsin Timber Rattlers are planning two events to get fans in the mood for baseball.

On March 29, a Spring Kickoff is set for the Fox Communities Credit Union Fox Club at Fox Cities Stadium. The new event includes a watch party for the Milwaukee Brewers' spring training game. Samples of the Rattlers' new 2017 food items will also be available for sale. The team is also selling $10 grab bags with team merchandise. Mascots Fang and Whiffer will host a children's coloring contest and be available for photos. Finally, the Snake Pit Team Store will be open.

The Spring Kickoff runs from 1:30-5:30 p.m. The Brewers game starts at 2 p.m.

Then, on April 4, the Timber Rattlers are holding their annual Fan Fest at the stadium. Fans will be able to get autographs from players, with the team taking the field for a practice at 1 p.m. A five-inning scrimmage against the Mellen Rockies, an amateur team from northwestern Wisconsin, follows at 3 p.m.

Each fan who attends the Fan Fest will receive a voucher for a hot dog, soda and popcorn. The Snake Pit and ticket office will also be open and selling team merchandise and game tickets.

Fan Fest runs from noon-5 p.m.

Admission to both the Spring Kickoff and Fan Fest is free.

The Timber Rattlers' season begins April 6 at Quad Cities. Their home opener is April 8, also against the River Bandits.
