Packers draft Badgers WR Abbrederis in 5th round

The Green Bay Packers selected Wisconsin wide receiver Jared Abbrederis in the fifth round of the NFL Draft, 176th overall.

Abbrederis caught 78 passes for 1,081 yards and seven touchdowns last season for Wisconsin. For his career, the Wautoma High School graduate, caught 202 passes (tied for school record) for 3,140 yards (No. 2 all-time at Wisconsin)and 23 touchdowns.

Abbrederis, a former walk-on, was a first-team all-Big Ten Conference selection the last two seasons.

Abbrederis is the first Badger selected by the Packers since 2001, when they picked offensive lineman Bill Ferrario.
