Green Bay Bullfrogs founder killed in snowmobile crash
(WLUK) -- The Green Bay Bullfrogs organization is mourning the loss of its founder.
Jeff Royle died in a snowmobiling crash Tuesday night in Minocqua.
Royle founded the Bullfrogs, a Northwoods League baseball team, in 2007. He was majority owner until 2013.
"The Bullfrogs would not be in Green Bay without Jeff Royle," current Bullfrogs owners Steve Schmitt, Conor Caloia and Vern Stenman said in a news release. "We will be forever grateful to Jeff for bringing baseball back to Green Bay. We are sorry to learn of his passing and our thoughts are with his family during this difficult time."
"The Northwoods League would like to pass on our thoughts and prayers to Jeff's family," Dick Radatz, Jr., Chairman and Co-Founder of the Northwoods League, said in a news release. "Jeff was an integral part of Green Bay's sports history and the rich history of the Northwoods League."
Royle was 48 years old.
