(GREEN BAY)- The Green Bay Gamblers wasted no time in naming a head coach after former coach Derek Lalonde left to become the head coach of the Toledo Walleye, announcing associate head coach and player personnel head Pat Mikesch to the position.
Mikesch has been with the team for three years, and has been in charge of the Gamblers draft, so he helped build the current roster.
"My team will be very skilled, fast, and they will be aggressive," said Mikesch. "I am an aggressive person and I like to be in peoples faces. I like to get after it and I want my team to be the same. I'm not very good at sitting back and watching. I'm going to be proactive. I'm a loud person and I like to be in practice. I like to be involved and I want our kids to get after it. It will be a fun place to play, it will be a fun place to watch the team play and I guarantee we'll put a good product on ice at all times."
Mikesch also takes over the role as general manager.
