Spartans looking past last year's heartbreak, ready to seal a state title
LUXEMBURG (WLUK) -- The Luxemburg-Casco wrestling team tasted heartbreak on the mat last season, falling to Ellsworth by a single point for the Division 2 title.
Grappling with a chip on their shoulder, Luxemburg-Casco meets G-E-T/Melrose-Mindoro to open their tournament Saturday.
"It really pushed us to drive and work harder this year than we did last year," said senior Bryce Bosman. "I do not want to feel that feeling again so this year it really means a lot to get down there and win it."
"I don't think we had the upmost confidence last year and I think it's there this year," said senior Nate Lloyd. "We know what we've done and we've dominated people this year and going into this last tournament to finish things up, it's going to, we're going to get things done. That's the kind of attitude."
If all goes well, they'll meet the Panthers with a chance at redemption and their first state championship since 2013.
