GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- The WIAA released its 8-team groupings for the football playoffs early Saturday morning.

Among the notable groupings are:

Kimberly is grouped with Fond du Lac and Oshkosh West, two teams it beat during the regular season. However, it beat Fond du Lac in Week 1, 35-28.

Also, Bay Port is grouped with Appleton North and Green Bay Preble. Bay Port will be a No. 1 seed.

In Division 2, Appleton West is the largest school in the division and Ashwaubenon is grouped with West with a 4-5 record.

In Division 3, Berlin, Fox Valley Lutheran, Luxemburg-Casco, New London, Notre Dame, Seymour and West De Pere are grouped together. Kewaskum is the lone out-of-area team, but it should be the No. 1 seed as it is 9-0.

In Division 4, Freedom, Little Chute, Omro, Peshtigo, Wautoma, Winneconne, Wrightstown and Xavier are grouped together, which means a local team will reach Level 4. Wrightstown should be the No. 1 seed as it won the North Eastern Conference.
