Blizzard Begin Training Camp for 2018 Season
Green Bay —
The Green Bay Blizzard began training camp at Sports Emporium in De Pere this week, officially kicking off the 10th season of the Indoor Football League. The Blizzard started camp with forty players and cut down to twenty-five before their home opener on February 25th, 2018.
Thirteen players with NFL Training camp experience, fifteen returning players from the 2017 team, one former Green Bay Packer Linebacker and a returning IFL Hall-of-Famer have Head Coach Chris Williams excited to put his team together. “I am excited for the start of camp because I really like the talent level of our roster, all the players have great attitudes and are ready to get to work, said Williams. "I’m also excited for the first time in my time here that there are no new coaches, which means we are all truly on the same page.”
IFL Hall-of-Famer BJ Hill will look to me a return to the turf for the 2018 Blizzard season. BJ holds the league record for kicks returned for Touchdown and his #3 jersey is the only number to ever be retired by the Green Bay Blizzard. He has spent the last five seasons playing professional rugby.
The Blizzard open their season at home on February 25th @ 3:05pm at the Resch Center against the West Michigan Ironmen.
