CHICAGO (WLUK) -- It's official: Badger football is headed to the Friendly Confines.

The University of Wisconsin will play Northwestern at Wrigley Field Nov. 7, 2020, Northwestern and Chicago Cubs officials announced Tuesday.

The game will be just the second college football game at the historic baseball stadium since 1938. In 2010, Illinois beat Northwestern there. That game was notable because both offenses were forced to play toward the same end zone, as the playing area was not large enough to safely accommodate the football field. According to the Chicago Tribune, renovations to Wrigley Field since then included removable seats aimed at allowing enough space for football games.

The Badgers have played only one game in Chicago since 1942, but are now scheduled to visit the Windy City in back-to-back years. Wisconsin is set to play Notre Dame at Soldier Field in 2021.

The 2020 game at Wrigley Field comes just five weeks after Wisconsin is scheduled to play Notre Dame at Lambeau Field.
