SNC hockey opens NCAA playoffs at home; Marian makes the tourney

St. Norbert hockey (WLUK).

(WLUK) - The St. Norbert College men's hockey team begins its quest for a fifth NCAA Division 3 title at home in a national quarterfinal game. And, Marian University made the tournament for the first time in program history.

The Sabres (20-7-1) will travel to Augsburg College (18-9-0) on March 10. The Marian/Augusburg winner will travel to face the Green Knights (24-4-1) March 17 at the Cornerstone Community Center. Game Time is 7 p.m.

The winner advances to the final four, which will be held March 23-24 at Herb Brooks Arena in Lake Placid, N.Y.

SNC won the NCHA conference tournament Saturday with a 2-1 overtime win at Adrian.

Adrian (24-5-0) hosts UW-Stevens Point (20-5-3) in another quarterfinal game on March 17.
