Lindstrom headed to Sparks training camp
GREEN BAY (WLUK) -- Jessica Lindstrom completed a terrific college basketball career at Green Bay in March, but the former Phoenix forward is moving forward with her basketball career.
Lindstrom said she will sign a contract with the WNBA's Los Angeles Sparks on Tuesday and will report to training camp April 26.
"It was very exciting," Lindstrom said of the contract offer. "It's really cool. I'm just excited to have the opportunity."
Lindstrom led Green Bay in scoring (15.1 points per game), rebounds (10.5 rpg.), three-point shooting (66-for-146, 37.5 percent) and blocked shots (20) and was a first-team All-Horizon League pick.
Lindstrom says this chance has a lot do with the support around her.
"It means a lot for sure," she said. "I would give a lot of the credit to ... actually 99 percent to my teammates. I'm really thankful for all of them and what they do day in and day out."
Lindstrom also completed her career as the Phoenix's all-time Division I leader with 1,030 rebounds and also double-doubles with 41. Her 345 rebounds in 2017-18 also tied for the most in a single season in program history.
