Internal investigation underway in Sterling Brown arrest
MILWAUKEE (WLUK) -- Milwaukee Police say they will not file any charges against a Milwaukee Bucks player but do say a review is underway by the department's internal affairs.
On Jan. 26, police say they had used a Taser on Bucks' rookie Sterling Brown after he became combative while an officer was writing Brown a parking ticket.
On Monday, police said, “a command-level review of relevant reports and body camera footage indicate that Mr. Brown’s actions and behavior do not merit a criminal charge. Furthermore, the department is reviewing the police response including supervisory oversight. The matter has been referred to MPD Internal Affairs for investigation and at the completion of that investigation the findings will be made public and the body worn camera footage will be released.”
The Milwaukee Bucks interim head coach, Joe Prunty, said the team is standing behind the rookie guard, "We do support Sterling completely. We're confident it will be resolved completely."
