OSHKOSH (WLUK) -- Think you can make it as a professional basketball player? You'll have a chance to prove it.

The Wisconsin Herd is hosting tryouts for local players Sept. 23 at the 20th Avenue YMCA in Oshkosh. Basketball operations employees for the Herd and its parent team, the Milwaukee Bucks, are scheduled to be on hand to evaluate participants. Participants will be competing for a possible spot in the Herd's training camp, which opens in October.

There are 55 slots open for players. Those trying out must be at least 18 years old and pay a $150 fee. Players also need to fill out an online registration form.

The tryouts will not be open to spectators.
