Brewers set sights on second half
MILWAUKEE (WLUK) -- Entering the second half of the major league season the Milwaukee Brewers are ahead 5.5 games of the St. Louis Cardinals and the defending World Champion Chicago Cubs.
After our days off, this team is ready to keep their success rolling.
"It's great to be back, definitely back in here," said Brewers closer Corey Knebel. "Get these games where it counts, we definitely need some wins and we got to keep it going, bug second half for us."
"I think we made some strides in Spring Training and then we had a bunch of guys really that I think have improved as baseball players and I feel like that has made a lot of difference," said Brewers manager Craig Counsell. "I think we've really done a nice job to create a nice atmosphere."
The Brewers open up the second half of their season with a three game home stand with the Philadelphia Phillies.
